SUBMARINE TECHNOLOGY AND BAE SYSTEMS SUPPORT COWES SEA CADETS

Submarine Technology Limited develops specialised equipment for the offshore and marine industries.  The NEPTUNE  project has been running for several years and is aimed at transferring people safely from a ship onto a fixed structure such as a wind turbine or oil platform.

Tim Blake, Darren Toogood and David Kirkley

The project has reached an advanced stage with a full-size prototype now undergoing testing with help from BAE Systems in Cowes, who have made available a test facility on their site.  BAE Systems provides charitable support to Cowes Sea Cadets and to acknowledge BAE Systems’ valuable assistance Submarine Technology has also made a donation to the Sea Cadets.  In January 2018, a cheque for £1,000 was presented to Darren Toogood, representing the Sea Cadets, by David Kirkley who is Submarine Technology’s Managing Director.  Together with Tim Blake, BAE Systems Cowes Manager, and Submarine Technology’s Technical Director Peter Back they then took the opportunity to view the Sea Cadets’ facility and discuss plans for the future.
